As part of the ongoing celebrations of Knowledge Day, the National Higher School of Journalism and Information Sciences—M’hamed Yazid—experienced today a special atmosphere that combined intellectual engagement with a spirit of challenge.

The school organized a chess activity marked by focus and enthusiasm, where students demonstrated strong mental skills and a noble sense of competition, truly embodying the value of strategic thinking and creativity.

In parallel, the school library organized a book fair, which served as a key highlight of these events. It provided students with a rich space for exploration and discovery, further strengthening their love for reading and knowledge, as the book remains a cornerstone of academic formation.

Scientific Workshop on Radio Programme Production: From Idea to Creative Performance

In a rich scientific atmosphere and with distinguished attendance, the activities of the technical scientific workshop organized by the Laboratory of Media Products Usage and Reception in Algeria, in partnership with the Laboratory of Media, Communication and Social Uses, were concluded under the title:

“The Components and Elements of Radio Programme Production: From a Mature Idea to an Authentic Script and Creative Performance.”

The workshop was supervised and facilitated by Dr. Faiza Bakkar and the emerging journalist Yasmine, who delivered an outstanding theoretical and practical intervention. Their contribution enabled students to explore the different stages of radio programme production, starting from idea development and refinement, moving to scriptwriting and mastery, and finally transforming it into professional and creative media performance.

The event also witnessed the notable presence of the Laboratory of Media, Communication and Social Uses, represented by its director, Professor Driss Cherif, along with active and meaningful participation from the school’s students, who demonstrated strong engagement and keen interest in the workshop’s topics.

This initiative is part of efforts to support practical training and strengthen the link between academic knowledge and professional practice, thereby contributing to the development of students’ skills and preparing them to meet the challenges of the contemporary media landscape.

In an atmosphere that celebrates creativity and highlights the value of innovative ideas, the Technology and Innovation Support Center (CATI) at the National Higher School of Journalism and Information Sciences—M’hamed Yazid—will mark World Intellectual Property Day by organizing a distinguished event that brings together the passion of sport, the dynamism of innovation, and the importance of protecting creativity.

Innovation in the sports field is no longer an option but has become a key driver of development, where new ideas intersect with legal protection mechanisms that enable their transformation into promising projects with tangible economic and social impact.

This event will bring together a select group of institutional stakeholders, intellectual property experts, and prominent media figures, in addition to active participation from the school’s clubs, which will showcase innovative student initiatives reflecting the creativity and energy of our students.

It will be an opportunity for exchange, awareness-raising, and exploration of new opportunities at the intersection of sports and technology, in a stimulating environment for innovation and creative thinking.

Participation of Students in the 85th Ooredoo Press Club Training Session

At the kind invitation of the school’s partner Ooredoo, students of the National Higher School of Journalism and Information Sciences—“M’hamed Yazid”—participated in the 85th training session of the Ooredoo Press Club, held on April 16, 2026, at the company’s headquarters in Ouled Fayet. This participation took place within the framework of strengthening field training and coincided with the celebration of Knowledge Day.

This high-quality session focused on a highly relevant topic: “Artificial Intelligence in Journalism.” It was delivered by Dr. Hassan Drar, who discussed ways of integrating artificial intelligence into journalistic practice to enhance professional performance and improve the quality of digital content, as well as the future role of 5G technology in the media landscape.

The event also featured the presentation of the 19th edition of the “Media Star” competition, offering students and professionals an opportunity to showcase their creativity and compete in an inspiring media environment.

This initiative is part of the school’s efforts to strengthen partnerships with leading industry actors and to enable its students to keep pace with digital transformations while acquiring modern journalistic skills aligned with the demands of the profession.
