The importance of this specialization stems from its alignment with the needs and requirements of the Algerian labor market, especially in light of the major transformations occurring in the field of sports media and communication. Most notably, these include: the entry of the private sector into media and communication investment, the transition from amateur to professional sports, and the major shift in sports journalism practices within a digital environment driven by a high level of creativity and innovation.

This Master’s program aims to bridge the gap between general media training and sports specialization, which has become an industry in its own right. It is an authentic program that enables students to acquire a critical perspective, strategic knowledge, and advanced technical skills, with the goal of training qualified professionals capable of creativity, innovation, and creating projects in the field of sports journalism and communication.

Digital Journalism and Modern Technologies

Providing training in digital sports journalism, content management across social media platforms, and handling photography, filming, and digital editing equipment.

Deepening knowledge of sports marketing, broadcasting rights, sponsorship, advertising, and the management of sports organizations from a communication perspective.

Preparing researchers capable of studying social and psychological phenomena related to sports (such as stadium violence and fan sociology), while mastering scientific research tools.

Admission Procedures

Enrollment in the Master’s program is subject to specific academic criteria, and admission is granted through a competitive selection process following a review of the applicant’s file.

 

Admission to this Master’s program is granted through a nationwide competitive written examination, which is open to holders of a Bachelor’s degree (Licence) in Media and Communication Sciences (all specializations). Participation is also permitted for holders of certain undergraduate degrees in other relevant disciplines (Sports Sciences and Physical Education, Management, Law, International Relations, Information Technology), subject to conditions determined by the competition committee.
