On Thursday, July 16, 2026, the Director of the National Higher School of Journalism and Information Sciences, Professor Khaled Lalaoui, participated in the inauguration ceremony of the University of Algiers’ first financial investment company, as well as the official launch of the second edition of “ProtoMarket.” The event was held under the supervision of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Professor Kamel Baddari.
The occasion highlighted innovative projects developed by university students while officially announcing the launch of the second edition of ProtoMarket, an initiative designed to support and finance innovative student-led projects. The program aims to strengthen the culture of innovation and entrepreneurship across higher education institutions.
The National Higher School of Journalism and Information Sciences also took part in the Innovation and Startup Exhibition through Algerian Virtual Travel (AVT), a startup established as the result of a partnership and collaboration between the National Higher School of Journalism and Information Sciences and the Higher School of Commerce. This initiative reflects the importance of inter-university cooperation in fostering innovation and supporting student entrepreneurship.
As part of its ongoing commitment to strengthening the development of the Journal of Journalism and Communication, the scientific journal published by the National Higher School of Journalism and Information Sciences “M’hamed Yazid” (ENSJSI), an official handover ceremony was held to mark the transition of the Editor-in-Chief position.
On this occasion, Professor Driss Cherif was appointed as the new Editor-in-Chief of the journal, succeeding Dr. Malika Boukhari. The ceremony took place in the presence of Professor Djamel Bouchagour, Assistant Director in charge of Doctoral Training, Scientific Research, Technological Development, Innovation, and the Promotion of Entrepreneurship.
On this occasion, the School’s administration, represented by its Director, extends its sincere gratitude and appreciation to Dr. Malika Boukhari in recognition of her dedicated efforts and valuable contributions throughout her tenure as Editor-in-Chief.

At the National Higher School of Journalism and Information Sciences “M’hamed Yazid”, the Director of the School, Professor Khaled Lalaoui, welcomed Professor Massoud Ammarna, Secretary-General of the National Federation of Higher Education and Scientific Research, as part of a working and familiarization visit. He was accompanied by Mr. Ailoul Hichem, Secretary-General of the Ben Aknoun Local Union, affiliated with the General Union of Algerian Workers (UGTA).
The visit provided an opportunity to tour the School’s various facilities and academic structures, while receiving an overview of its academic and scientific journey, as well as the continuous efforts undertaken to advance education and research in the fields of media and communication sciences.
During the visit, the Secretary-General expressed his deep appreciation and admiration for the level of excellence achieved by the School, highlighting the vitality of its academic environment, the quality of its facilities, and the dynamic approach that characterizes its educational and scientific development. He also commended the clear commitment demonstrated by the School’s administration to fostering excellence and strengthening the institution’s position as a leading specialized university in journalism and information sciences.

This well-deserved distinction recognizes her creativity and outstanding achievement through her innovative project, “CreAni”—an ambitious Algerian platform designed to bring together the various stakeholders of the animation industry. The initiative aims to support national talent, foster innovation, and contribute to the development of this promising creative sector.
