Study Day on Metaverse Journalism and New Audience Dynamics

As part of scientific research activities and academic reflection, the Research Laboratory in Media, Communication, and Social Uses organized a rich study day titled:
“When the Metaverse Redefines Journalism: Interactivity and New Audience Dynamics.”

This distinguished event was delivered by Doria Tounsi and Feryal Tounsi, founders of Shedio Design Solutions. The session analyzed the emerging applications of the metaverse in journalistic practice and its potential to reshape the relationship between journalists and audiences through virtual reality technologies and artificial intelligence.

This meeting once again highlights the school’s commitment to keeping pace with major digital transformations and exploring new horizons for creativity and innovation in the field of media.

Training Workshop on Sports Reporting Techniques Delivered by Sports Journalist Samir Douidi

The National Higher School of Journalism and Information Sciences—M’hamed Yazid—organized a distinguished training workshop for its students, delivered by sports journalist Samir Douidi, focusing on techniques for writing sports reports and methods of media coverage of sporting events.

The workshop provided a valuable opportunity for students to acquire new field skills and strengthen their practical knowledge in sports journalism, through the expertise and supervision of Mr. Samir Douidi, who delivered rich content and a highly practical learning experience.

The school administration extends its sincere thanks and appreciation to journalist Samir Douidi for this valuable supervision and his initiative aimed at supporting the training of the school’s students.

Recording Special Media Sessions on the Occasion of National Press Day (October 22)

On the occasion of National Press Day, observed on October 22, the National Higher School of Journalism and Information Sciences—M’hamed Yazid—organized a special activity consisting of recording dedicated sessions within the school’s studios.

A group of distinguished professors from the school participated in these sessions, delivering rich interventions on the evolution of journalistic practice in Algeria, as well as the role of journalism in promoting societal awareness and strengthening freedom of expression.

This initiative served as an opportunity to reaffirm the noble values of the profession and to remind our students of its higher mission.

Radio Program on Media in Times of Geopolitical Transformations on National Press Day

Also within the framework of commemorating National Press Day, the National Higher School of Journalism and Information Sciences—M’hamed Yazid—hosted Professor Abdel Salam Ben Zawi and Professor Ismaïl Oulbsir, who recorded a special radio program addressing the theme of media in times of geopolitical transformations.

This initiative is part of a series of activities organized by the school on this important national occasion, aiming to enrich academic debate on the ongoing transformations in the media landscape and the role of journalism in understanding contemporary geopolitical balances.

Commemoration of the National Press Day and Tribute to Mohamed Yazid

On the occasion of the National Press Day, the National Higher School of Journalism and Information Sciences received a kind invitation from the “Mashaal El Chahid” Association and the Moudjahid Forum to participate in a special event celebrating this important national occasion.

The event highlighted the significance of this national day in consolidating the values of free and responsible journalism. It also provided an opportunity to recall the legacy of the late mujahid and prominent figure Mohamed Yazid, one of the symbols of the liberation revolution and a pioneer of political media in Algeria, whose name our school proudly bears in honor of his national and professional legacy.

On this occasion, the school’s Director, Professor Khaled Lalaoui, extends his sincere thanks and appreciation to the Mashaal El Chahid Association and the Moudjahid Forum for the kind invitation and warm reception.

The school also reaffirms its pride in its strong partnership with the newspaper El Moudjahid, a long-standing partner, and seeks to further strengthen and develop its relations with this historic newspaper within the framework of ongoing media and academic cooperation.

Student Club Participation in the National “Khadra’a Bi Idhn Allah” Tree-Planting Campaign

As part of the national initiative “Khadra’a Bi Idhn Allah,” which covered various provinces across the country, the “Al-Mishkat” Club of the National Higher School of Journalism and Information Sciences took part in a tree-planting campaign, contributing to the promotion of an environmentally responsible culture and the consolidation of values of citizenship and volunteerism among students.

The club members demonstrated active participation and represented the school in an exemplary manner, reflecting a strong sense of commitment and positive engagement in national initiatives aimed at environmental protection and raising environmental awareness.

Information Day on Student Startup Creation and Economic Enterprise Projects

As part of fostering student initiative and encouraging them to engage in the creation of startups, the National Higher School of Journalism and Information Sciences—Imhamed Yaziz—organized an information day on the project of establishing an economic enterprise, held on Monday, October 27, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. in the Naït Mazi Auditorium.

This meeting took place in the context of explaining and clarifying Ministerial Decree No. 008 of February 23, 2025, which amends and complements Ministerial Decree No. 1275, related to the creation of economic enterprises within the university environment.

The session was facilitated by:

  • Prof. Missoum Maryem – National Higher School of Irrigation, Blida
  • Dr. Harbi Lamia – University of Tipaza, Abdallah Merzeli

This event aimed to introduce students to the legal and regulatory framework of startups and to encourage them to transform their creative ideas into real projects contributing to economic development.

Commemoration of the 63rd Anniversary of the Restoration of National Sovereignty over Radio and Television

As part of the commemoration of the 63rd anniversary of the restoration of national sovereignty over the radio and television institutions, Dr. Malika Lamoudi and Dr. Jamal Bouchakor, professors at the National Higher School of Journalism and Information Sciences, took part in a special radio program broadcast by the Algerian International Channel on this occasion.

This participation aimed to enrich the discussion on the significance of this historical event in the trajectory of national media, and to emphasize its role in consolidating media sovereignty and strengthening national identity.

Study Day on Research Ethics and Academic Plagiarism Risks

As part of the scientific activities of the Research Laboratory in Media, Social Uses, and Communication, the National Higher School of Journalism and Information Sciences—M’hamed Yazid—organized a study day chaired by Dr. Nesrine Saadoun entitled: “Research Ethics and the Risks of Academic Plagiarism.”

This scientific meeting aimed to discuss ethical values in academic research and raise awareness about the dangers of intellectual and academic plagiarism, with the participation of professors, researchers, and students from the school.

The school extends its sincere thanks to the participating professors in this study day:

Participation in the National Conference of Universities at the Ministry of Higher Education

The National Higher School of Journalism and Information Sciences—M’hamed Yazid, represented by its Director, Professor Khaled Lalaoui, is participating today, Thursday, October 30, 2025, in the National Conference of Universities chaired by the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Professor Kamel Baddari, at the Ministry’s headquarters, in the presence of heads of higher education institutions and chairs of ministerial committees.

The meeting was dedicated to presenting the latest developments in the sector and monitoring the implementation of university and research programs in line with the national strategy SNTN / HCN, as part of efforts to develop higher education and enhance the position of Algerian universities within their scientific and societal environment.
