The National Higher School of Journalism and Information Sciences—Imhamed Yaziz—commemorates, with deep reverence and respect, the painful anniversary of the May 8, 1945 massacres, a pivotal moment in Algeria’s history, during which thousands of innocent martyrs fell in defense of freedom and dignity, in one of the most horrific crimes committed by colonialism against the defenseless Algerian people.
This enduring memory is not merely a passing historical event; it is a page of sacrifice and resilience written in the pure blood of the nation’s sons and daughters, bearing witness to the brutality of colonial repression and to the unwavering will of a people who refused to be broken despite pain and suffering.
On this solemn day, we honor with pride the souls of our righteous martyrs and renew our commitment to preserving the national memory, strengthening the values of loyalty and belonging, and passing on the message of history to future generations, in the belief that nations that preserve their memory preserve their future.
Glory and eternity to our noble martyrs.
May Allah have mercy on the martyrs of Algeria.
